Who is Benjamin Franklin?
Benjamin Franklin (January 17, 1706 – April 17, 1790) was one of the most important Founding Fathers of the United States. He was a leading author, political theorist, politician, printer, scientist, inventor, civic activist, and diplomat. Franklin was famous for his curiosity, his writings (popular, political and scientific), his inventions, and his diversity of interests.

For this activity, each group will be assigned a period shown on the map.
Group 1: 1706
Group 2: 1735
Group 3: 1765
Group 4: 1780
Group 5: 1790
Please pick 3 "Influenced" areas and 3 "Traveled to" areas in the time period that you have been assigned and write a paragraph (a couple of sentences) in your own words to summarize Benjamin Franklin's life or contributions. A total of 6 index cards will need to be filled out. When reviewing the map, please keep in mind major dates and contributions. Bring your index cards and information to the group to complete the assigmnment detail under the assingment link.
The paragraphs will be presented to the class by each group. The paragraphs will then be placed on a timeline to be hung in the classroom.
